                                     ~2 Years Later April 29, 2010~

Jade and Chris have been police officers for two years  in the same precinct, 6-1, that investigates Homicide. Jade and Chris have resolved their issue.  They have been living together for about 6 months. However, it took quite a while to get to that.

“Jade what are you doing going through my stuff?” Chris said calmly.

“I …uh…um was looking for your equipment so I can clean my weapon” Jade replied nervously.

“What! Why? Where is your equipment, its definitely not in my bag, I always keep everything on the left side of the room, what the hell!” Chris said.

“It’s not what it looks like” Was all Jade could think of.  Chris looked at her like ‘nothing at all, right try again.’ Chris just looked at her and waited for her to continue.

“Ugh, dammit Chris. Why do you do this?” Jade groaned.

    “ Do what?”

“ Be you and not let others mess with you, and why do you get tense when I mention family and what’s with your “Fearless” chain?” Jade rambled.

“Jade how many times do I have to tell you, drop the family, drop the chain, I’ll tell you one day, alright?” Chris said with annoyance.

    “Why not now?” Jade whined.

Chris didn’t bother to respond. She just changed her clothes and went to work out. While she was there, she did a lot of thinking. About why was she getting so stressed over Jade, why is Jade getting on my case, what is her deal. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks. Jade had mentioned a while back that if she liked someone, she gets all in their business. Ugh, why does she have to like me…Hmm, maybe its not so bad. Thought Chris. As she was leaving, she was still frustrated and bumped into a body.

“This has got to stop happening Jade.” Chris said.

“ What? Bumping into each other?” Jade said laughing.

“ YES!” Chris said beyond pissed.

Jade finally got the courage and was about to ask Chris if she felt the same way until she caught a glimpse of Chris’ eyes. They looked grayish which was odd for her. Usually her eyes are a cerulean blue bold, and when she’s not happy they turn cobalt. This is odd. Too weird.
A few days later when both Jade and Chris had off they began talking about the problem:

“Jade, do you like me or what?” Chris stated bluntly.

“Look, put it this way. I think your attractive and would seriously love to go out with you.  You’re a genuine person and gorgeous not to mention, but didn’t want to say anything incase you didn’t feel the same way. If you didn’t I would feel like an ass…did I mention gorgeous.” Jade said all in one breath.

“Wow, I never knew you felt that. I mean, I guess I did, but not entirely. Yes, Jade I am interested no doubt, but I don’t know,” Chris responded.

Jade and Chris just sat thinking about what the other said and what they were feeling.

“So how about them Yankees?” Chris said to lighten the mood.

“How can you think of the Yankees now?” Jade said laughing.

“I don’t know, c’mon lets go into the city and go party. You know we could both use it, you, me, no uniform, no act, just us,” Chris said taking her hands and looking her straight in the eyes.

Thursday May 1, 2010 Journal Entry -4

Uhh, its me again. I just has this giant fight with Chris. I told her that I liked her and what does say: How about them Yankees. I wanted to knock her out. Anyway, we decided to just go to the club instead  Chris is really an amazing girl.

About an hour later, they were changed and heading to Webster Hall. When they arrived Chris excused herself to talk to the bartender. Previously, Chris had been a bartender. She did that to help pay for college. To this day Chris still practices it. So when she went over, she talked with him for 20 minutes and came back with a huge grin on her face.

“ Excuse me ma’am, can I talk to the manager or whoever runs the bar please?” Chris asked.

“ Um yeah hold on” said the waitress with a bewildered look by how she was respected.

“ I’m Mark Anderson.  I run the bar.  I hear you need to talk to me,” Questioned Mark Anderson the Bartender/Manger.

“Yes sir, my name is Christine Hunter and I was wondering if you had any openings and need someone to work the bar.”

“Okay…yes I am short of a few people, but why do you want to bartend here.” asked  Mark.

“Well, for college I paid my way through bartending and I was pretty good at. Now that I am a cop I want something to do on my nights off and also this would help you out incase problems went down with trying to break up fights…oh and its closer to my apartment.”

“Yeah, I see your point…why don’t you come by tomorrow night with jeans and a tank and well see what you got. Also, bring any information you have if you have done this before” Mark said.

“Okay, great you wont be disappointed at all sir, thank you for talking with me.” Chris said confidently.

“Sure no problem see you tomorrow night,” He said shaking her hand.

As Chris sauntered back over to Jade. She wondered where she went, but didn’t question her actions. They just danced until it was time to head out. Before she left Chris gave Jade a kiss on the cheek. Chris thanked her for a good night of partying and went up in their apartment.

The next day at Chris was out for a run when she called Jade at 11:30am.

“Cassidy” Jade said into her phone.

    “Jade its Chris.”

“Ugh, women it’s only 11:30 and we’re off. Why are you calling me now?” Jade said groggy glancing at the clock.

“Yeah…well if you hadn’t drank so much you wouldn’t feel like this in the morning” Chris laughed.

“ How come you aren’t feeling like a bus hit you? You drank more than I did,” Jade said.

“Ha-ha, believe me I am, but I have a high tolerance to it, now what are you doing  tonight” Questioned Chris.

“Huh, nothing Why you have something planned?” Jade answered.

“As a matter a fact I do, unless you’re busy” Chris said quietly.

“No, No, I’m not busy. What did you have in mind?”

“Well, I know we were already at Webster Hall and whatever, but I want to show you one of my things that got me through college.”

“Oh My God, you weren’t a strip dancer were you?” Was all Jade could say with out laughing.

“God No, Jade its something better, come tonight and you’ll see, I honestly think you’ll be amazed and shocked.” Chris said with confidence.

“Alright, well see how much you impress me tonight.”

“Okay great, well I need to hit the gym, so enjoy today and get some sleep you’re going to need it.”  Chris said.

    “Alright, bye Chris”

    “See you later Jade”

Jade thought of what Chris used to pay her way through college. Chris hoped that Jade likes what she does.

Jade Cassidy
[info]ducky9187

As of January 15, 2008 Jade Cassidy, a native New Yorker is entering the police academy to join the NYPD. Throughout her whole life her parents have been involved with the police. Her father, Brian Cassidy, was once a Cost Guard commander and has become a Captain of the 2-6 that investigates Homicide in Queens, NY. Meanwhile, her mother, Andrea Cassidy, has been a detective for nearly five years and is now a Sergeant in the DEA. Jade is 5’6” with olive skin and eyes like a teddy bear that reflect her personality along with her dark hair swaying at her shoulders. While growing up, her family moved a lot due to her parents’ jobs. However, their final move was when she was 15 and they have stayed ever since. She attended John Jay College in New York, and graduated with impeccable grades beyond her own age group.

During her college career, Jade has been taking classes that will further her knowledge and give her an advantage to better herself in the field. Jade received her BA in Psychology and along with graduating in the top of her class. Before entering the academy, Jade has been training many months with father and mother. Many of her friends believe that her parents will pull rank and have her assigned immediately because both are on the force. According to her father, mother, and the Commissioner, this is not true. Jade has to earn her spot without strings being pulled. She will and needs to prove herself more because she is a woman and has family on the force.

Monday January 22, 2008 ENTRY-1

I just finished the first week of training. It wasn’t as stressful as I thought it would be. We did a lot of running, core lifting, sit-ups, push-ups. Whenever someone was slacking off, we would have to start from the beginning and redo those sets again. We finally met our commanding officer for the program. He is a strict Southern gentleman. Go figure, living in New York. I think this is good, but it can be a little irritating after awhile. Many of the other people in my class don’t seem to have the drive and will to compete for what they want. Maybe they are reserving their passion for later on, in case they get burned out. While we are at attention and someone acts out, our whole group gets punished. This doesn’t really bother me, it just gets annoying when it is the same people doing the same thing. Like not standing the right way, disrespecting the instructors or being a wiseass about everything.

During this time, Jade has been training and going to the classes that will teach her everything she should know. Not much conflict has arose yet, but Jade is not assuming that nothing will happen. A few days ago, Jade became friends with Chris. She is about 5’7” dark hair and blue eyes. They both have the drive and compassion to complete the academy.

While Jade was leaving her class, she turned the corner and smacked into another cadet going the other way.

FLASHBACK~

Ow damn that hurt!”, “Whoa are you okay?” Jade and Chris responded at the same time. “I’m,” “Are,” together Jade and Chris spoke. Both girls could not stop laughing. Jade finally started the conversation and introduced herself.

Hello, I am so sorry I ran into you, my name is Jade Cassidy” Jade said.

Aw, its no problem are you okay? My name is Christina Hunter, its nice to meet you.”

We should hang out sometime if you would like to” she said.

Yes, Ma’am” Chris said quietly

Since then, both of them have encouraged each other to keep going and not to give up. Jade, on a few occasions, has had a hard time because of her knee injury from athletics back in high school and college. Whereas Chris was trying to push through the pain of her parents divorce while using that as her advantage to keep her anger reserved and her mind on the goal. Soon they discovered that they attended the same high school, but never knew each other aside from a glance. Jade remembers seeing Chris now during high school. She played volleyball for their high school, was the libero and Defensive Specialist, was the third basemen for there softball team, and got involved with the wrong things at times, and also was involved with another girl. However, Chris is the quiet type, but is always respectful to others. They are now six weeks in the academy and many interesting things have happened.

Tuesday January 29, 2008 Journal Entry-2

Oh my God. We have been doing everything from running to reading. I have hung out with Chris quite a few times and many of the things I heard about her seem to be wrong. Many people have misjudged her and that doesn’t really work when trying to become friends with someone. She has been shy all her life and has always respected people. So its been a while and the things we have done since the last time were loading, reloading and disarming a gun. I had a hard time with this, but Chris showed me how its done. I was impressed on how fast she picked it up, so I asked her how she knew all about weapons and everything we went over. Chris responded that one of her family members was a Sergeant in the military and is now FBI. She seemed really down when she mentioned it. I think there is more to that answer. On the other hand, it could be because of her parents divorce. Ugh, I heard form one of the male cadets the this week were doing defensive tactics without a weapon. This should be fun.

Jade and Chris have gotten a lot closer and begun to form a solid friendship. However, to Jade it goes deeper, but she refuses to voice her opinion… well at least to Chris. After the first day of defensive tactics, Jade was in a lot of pain. However, Chris was once again ready to go another round with the training. There is only eight more weeks left in the academy and Jade is beginning to get sick of all the training. Chris has to keep her going because of her confidence and attitude.

“I have had enough of this, this is getting really annoying all we do is go over the same thing everyday.” Complained Jade.

“So what are you going to do quit, give up?” Chris asked.

“NO, Chris c’mon do you honestly think I would give this all up after how hard I worked for this?” Protested Jade.

“Honestly, I don’t know. You complain at least every night and expect me to appease your needs when you’re struggling with the academy not me.” Chris responded annoyed.

“Wow, jeez Chris who knew you had it in you to be like that” she responded sarcastically.

“Like what?” She responded.

“Like this, stand up for yourself and not let someone overpower you” spoke Jade.

“Yeah, well it’s kind of hard when you’re the one complaining” Chris said under her breath, but Jade heard her loud and clear.

“Oh yeah and why is that?” asked Jade

“NO, comment.” Chris firmly responded.

“Chris c’mon, don’t give me that.” Jade said annoyed with Chris.

“Look, Jade just drop it, stop complaining, you wanted to do this, this was your choice in entering, don’t back out just because you can’t handle it, SHUT UP OR PUT UP!” Chris said all in one breath, and grinned when she finished. Jade looked completely stunned as Chris walked away.

“Um, okay” Jade responded once she found her voice.

After that heated conversation, Jade took a walk while Chris hit the weight room and ran on the treadmill. While listening to “In The End” by Linkin Park, she reflected on the conversation earlier with Jade. Chris, too, was surprised with how she reacted. Jade has never really pissed her off. However, today was different. Something wasn’t right. Chris was not acting like herself, or maybe Jade was right. After she ran her mile and a half she went back, took a shower, and fell asleep.

Jade was beyond herself that Chris reacted that way. Chris is usually the level headed one that reserves her anger and frustrations for the punching bag among other things. She is the one that keeps her cool and doesn’t go out of line. She has lost her cool no more than five times which is pretty good considering, that we’ve been pepper sprayed, shot at, hit numerous times, yelled at, woken up at five AM, and she has been dealing with me, among other things. The one thing Jade noticed about Chris was when she gets frustrated, she plays with her chain. She thinks it says “Fearless”, which could account for her actions she thought.

Tuesday April 29, 2008 Journal Entry-3

I was so surprised that Chris said all that. In fact, I was proud because she is always the quiet one and is always respectful even when she, herself, is being disrespected. I give that girl credit. Plus, she put up with me for the academy. We only have about a week left and its getting down to the wire. Everyone around this joint is tense, and can’t seem to take a joke. Chris and I have sparred and fought to practice and to just blow off steam, and wow that girl sure can keep up and is very powerful.
